2009 Warriors Victorious against Hutchinson Junior College
For the previous four weeks, the Warriors have been exclusively playing intrasquad games putting the puzzle pieces together for the spring season. On Saturday, October 11, the Warriors took to the field in a good test against a perennially talented program in Hutchinson Junior College and split a double header winning the first game 5-4, and dropping the second game 0-4.
"With the Conference limiting the amount of outside opponents we can play in the fall, being able to play a high quality opponent is crucial to getting a good idea of where we are as a program," commented Head Coach Jared Hamilton.
"We will have a lot of new faces in our starting 9 as opposed to last year, and the two pitchers that started against Hutch were new to the staff as well; with the guys coming out competitive and successful against a talented team like that which has had 15 to 20 games played in the fall is a positive sign," remarked Hamilton.
The Warriors will continue their fall intrasquads and practice next week as the rains have halted practice.
