Student Health Insurance

Every Sterling College student must be covered by a health insurance policy.  Sterling College offers an accident and sickness insurance plan through Student Assurance Services for students who do not have family or group insurance.  Information regarding this policy is provided at the time of registration on the Student Assurance Services website.  Payment of medical bills is always the student’s responsibility.

Before coming to campus students should know what kind of insurance coverage they have and they need to know how to file a claim.  The Student Life Office will require all students with their own health insurance to make a copy of their insurance card.  Students should also carry a copy of their health insurance card should be carried with them at all times.  When using off-campus health care facilities, students should know if there is a preferred provider specified by their insurance policy.  This information is available by calling the insurance provider directly, or at the provider’s website.
