Clinic Hours: Monday thru Friday 9:00 -5:00 with Rotating Lunch as allowed.
Some medical services will require an appointment because of the time needed for services.
Eligibility requirements : Any student enrolled in at Sterling college is eligible for basic health services through the Student
Health Center. The student health fee, which is included in the tuition each semester, allows the students to see the campus nurse free of charge. Students needing special serviceswill need to see local medical providers.. Summer Services are not provided.
Proactive health care and wellness programs are provided and help to encourage early interventions to prevent illness and injury.
Sterling Health Center will work with students’ home town Physicians per fax orders as legal and as needed.
Equipment Loans: Crutches, slings, vaporizers/humidifiers, heat packs, cold packs, ace bandages.
Refer Students: Sterling College has a nurse managed health service. Students are referred to doctors, physician assistants, nurse practioners, dentists, optometrists, and other medical services and specialties.
References and Handouts: Computer generated and other health-related subjects such as: blood pressure, HIV (AIDS), STD's, weight reduction, exercises, special diets, back pain, quit smoking, breast cancer, tattoos and body art, and many more.

Three doctors serve this clinic with one nurse midwife. This is a Branch of The Medical Center of Hutchinson, Ks.
Rice County Rural Hospital #1 islocated in Lyons, Kansas 8 Miles north of Sterling.
Lyons has a full-service community hospital 620-257-5173, including a 24-hour ER room

Recommendations for your dorm:
Bring a small first aid kit of your choice, thermometer, have a vaporizer or share one with dorm mates. Have an emergency light source, a small supply of bottled water, some canned soups or dry soup mixes , small supply of crackers, melba toast
For illness and any other medical supplies you normally have on hand.

EXERCISE CENTER- EAST CAMPUS
THE UNDERGROUD PULSE
The Underground Pulse is located in the basement of the Health Center.
Hours are 24/7 with security code entrance only. Entrance is thru the back door where a security light with
Motion sensors for night use.
The exercise center began with the request for floor space to exercise by the girls in the dorms. This space was cleaned,
painted and supplied by a donation from the Douglas Family Foundation in Jan of 07. This is a free to students area of use.
The center contains an assortment of treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, upright bike, bow flex home gym, exercise balls, free hand weights, a TV with dvd/vhs player for Pilates, core exercises and other floor programs.
90 percent of the usage is by female students.
Students register for use and receive a code for their use.
Registered users are responsible to report any problems with equipment, to bring their own water and headsets as no
cable or music source is provided. The students are required to be responsible to leave the area in a clean condition.
Students are expected to log in so usage and improvement data will be available.
