John Hackbarth (Kilbourn Resident Director)

John Hackbarth is a 2007 graduate of Sterling College with a Bachelors degree in Christian Ministries. Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Palm Springs, California coming to Sterling College boast many challenges and hardships for John; however, as a student John found it very easy to get connected and involved in school. He loved his teachers and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of Sterling. As a student, John was a resident's assistant (RA) as well as a student chaplain on campus for three years. Those three years of being involved in leadership at Sterling have played a tremendous role in John's maturity as a leader and his transition to being the Resdident Director of Kilbourn Hall. The 2007-2008 school year was John's first year as the Resident Director of Kilbourn. When asked how he thought the year went, John replied "It was a great year...My favorite aspect of being the Resident Director of Kilbourn is actively playing a part in the lives of my residents... Supporting my residents and watching them pursue their dreams is my greatest reward. My hope is to always shine a light to these students that testifies to the greatness and glory of God." John's passion is to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with others. His favorite Bible verse is Psalms 139:23-24.
